COM cable version

All devices should have Java MIDP 2.0 implemented with COM port and sockets support.
For this moment only Motorola phones support it.
Also, phone must have CE-BUS plug for proper cable connection. Models with miniUSB plug will not work!
  • Motorola:
    V80, V300, V400, V500, V525, V535, V547, V550, V600, V620, V635, V975, V980;

    ROKR E1, E380, E398, E550, E1000;
    T725;

    V551, V557 and other branded models WILL NOT work! - They have all ports blocked for socket connection by GSM provider.

Cable type

For connection to your GPS device you need a special COM cable with RS232 plug.

Motorola phones have 2 different cable plugs:
1. CE-BUS (older models)
2. miniUSB

COM cable for CE-BUS phones is available on the market.
See example in the picture.
Cable for miniUSB is not available at this moment.

You can use above COM cable to connect to your GPS cable. In most cases if your GPS cable is not a modem type one, you also need a Null modem connector between.
More informations about Null modem you can read here.

IMPORTANT!
Some models may have ports 80 and 8080 blocked for sockets connection by manufacturer or GSM operator. In that case, please contact your Caster provider for enabling connection on other ports, i.e. 2101.
