mobileNtrip 3.50 for COM cable connection
mobileNtrip for COM cable connection has a VRS (Virtual Reference Station) option which enables reading NMEA strings from GPS receiver with sending it to the Ntrip Caster before receiving correction data.
A transmission is fully bidirectional - similarly to Bluetooth version.
In most network solutions it is necessary to send the position of the Ntrip Client to the Ntrip Caster. That position could be used by the Ntrip Caster to provide a data stream for a Virtual Reference Station (VRS) or to determine the best data stream to
broadcast.
mobileNtrip allows clients to send NMEA GGA strings after the HTTP request for a data stream.
You can see a simple VRS system at this schema.
mobileNtrip works fine with VRS Trimble and GNSMART GEO++ systems with iGate and GNCASTER correction data servers.
It can also be used with single reference stations in BROADCAST mode.
A great advantage of this version is that you can use it with all available reference stations systems using Ntrip protocol to provide GNSS data!
It is possible to set NMEA string manually. This is a very valuable function for GPS receivers without NMEA sending option in case of selected Mountpoint which requires sending NMEA to the Caster.
For making NMEA string you need to write Latitude, Longitude with proper Directions and Altitude.
Next, you can set NMEA string to be sent only one time to the Caster or to send it every time GPS receiver will release a new string.
Finally, you are able to control the size of correction data buffer which is send to GPS receiver via COM port. This setting is needed when there is no EOL character inside data stream. The size depends on correction data type, so you should find an optimal value for your Mountpoint. Default value is 128 bytes.
It is very easy to operate with connection to GPS receiver and the Caster/Host. Two main operation screens allow you to control all needed parameters and data.

New (3.50) version enables you also to maintain a non-Ntrip stream of any data from your Host.
A non-Ntrip option can be accessed during application startup.
The only settings are Host IP and port. You can also set a buffer size of transmitted data or switch it off.
To operate with this version of mobileNtrip you need:
- GPS receiver - with differential correction data function,
- GSM mobile phone - with sockets and COM port support,
- Data COM cable - please read more here.
